The Early Birds Before School Program
University Park will be offering Before School Care beginning on Monday, August 24, 2026, at no cost to UPK families. Hours will be 8:15-9:00. At 9:00 am they will go to Precess or breakfast. This will be limited to 45 children and will be based on the order in which your family signed up. Once the 45 slots are filled, you will go onto a waitlist. Please note children may be registered ONLY by the parent(s) or legal guardian.
Behavior & Attendance Policy
1. Program Philosophy
The U-Park Early Birds Before School Program provides a safe, supportive environment. We expect all participants to demonstrate respect, responsibility, and safety. This program is being provided at no cost.
2. Participation as a Privilege
Participation is a privilege. Safety and group well-being are our top priorities. Continued enrollment depends on positive behavior and consistent attendance.
3. Attendance Policy & Requirements
To ensure slots are available to families who need them:
- Minimum Attendance: Each child must attend at least ten (10) days per month.
- Excused Absences: If a child cannot attend, parents must contact the school to excuse them. Excused absences do not count against the minimum.
- Not meeting the minimum attendance without communication may result in the child/children being withdrawn so that families on the waiting list can be served.
- Students must attend from 8:15 - 9:00 each day they’re scheduled. Students will not be admitted into the program after 8:30 unless it has been approved by the administration.
4. Expected Behaviors
- Follow staff directions immediately.
- Use school-appropriate language.
- Respect school property and others' space.
5. Prohibited Conduct
- Unsafe Behavior: Physical aggression or dangerous actions.
- Disruptive Behavior: Interference with program functions or others' enjoyment.
- Property Damage: Misuse or destruction of equipment.
